AlphaTarget is a premier research firm that combines fundamental and technical analysis to provide information and empowerment to investors worldwide.

Founded by Puru Saxena, a seasoned professional in the investment industry, AlphaTarget brings a wealth of expertise to the table. Prior to establishing AlphaTarget, Puru Saxena founded two SFC-regulated money management firms in Hong Kong where he was the portfolio manager and also oversaw investments and research.

Puru Saxena

Founder & CEO

Throughout his career, Puru Saxena gained recognition as a trusted voice in the investment industry. For over 15 years, he made regular appearances as a guest on prominent media outlets such as BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, and CNN. His insights and perspectives were sought after by leading publications, including being quoted by Barron’s. Additionally, for over a decade, Puru Saxena contributed monthly columns to various respected newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong, such as the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Business, Hong Kong Economic Times, and Hong Kong Economic Journal.

From 2016 to 2023, Puru Saxena managed his personal capital and shared his investment insights and personal portfolio holdings as a public service through his social media account, which by the end of 2023 snowballed to 350,000 followers. Over the years, he received countless requests from his followers from around the world to launch an in-depth research service. Motivated by the desire to share his unique investment process and empower investors, Puru Saxena established AlphaTarget.

Steve Symington

Senior Analyst

Steve Symington joined AlphaTarget as a Senior Analyst in April 2024. Prior to joining AlphaTarget, Steve spent 3 years as a founding lead adviser/analyst at 7investing Group. Previously, Steve spent 8 years as an analyst at The Motley Fool where he led a real-money portfolio and wrote more than 8,000 syndicated reports on stocks, investing and finance.

Steve’s work has been featured in USA Today, TheStreet, Forbes, TIME, Business Insider, Fox Business, Yahoo! Finance, MSN Money and Newsweek. Steve holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the University of Montana, USA.

Damia Othman

Senior Analyst

Damia Othman joined AlphaTarget as a Senior Analyst in May 2024. Prior to joining AlphaTarget, Damia spent 7 years as a sell-side analyst at an investment bank and brokers in Malaysia, covering the consumer and automotive sectors.

From 2021-2023, Damia was Vice President at Affin Hwang Investment Bank and previously, she worked as an analyst at KAF Equities and TA Securities. Damia started her career in the banking industry with Citibank Malaysia. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Economics from the University of Exeter, UK.

Anirban Mahanti

Senior Analyst

Anirban Mahanti joined AlphaTarget as a Senior Analyst in July 2024. Previously, Anirban was the Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at The Motley Fool (Australia) and for 3 years, he was a lead adviser at 7investing. Anirban’s expertise in disruptive technologies spans computer networking, data science, and machine learning.

Anirban has co-authored over 70 peer-reviewed papers and consulted for industry. He holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan, and a BE from Birla Institute of Technology, India.
